## July Quotes for a Cause - Against All Odds

We are excited to run a monthly Quotes for a Cause campaign. Each month, our agency will be donating $5 per new business quote to a nonprofit or charitable organization, regardless of whether or not the policy is actually purchased!

For July's Quotes for a Cause we partnered with [Against All Odds Foundation](http://www.againstalloddsfoundation.com/) and were able to present them with a check for $1,000. Founded in 1999, the foundation supports cancer survivors with their imminent needs such as phone bills, groceries, co-payment of prescription medication, etc. The organization, led by two-time Breast Cancer survivor Shirley M. Carter-Powell, also partners with other non-profit organizations in their mission of supporting cancer survivors and other health disparities. Please mark your calendars for their annual [Michigan Chicken Wing Festival](http://www.michiganchickenwingfestival.com/) at Adado Riverfront Park held Labor Day Weekend!

In August, we are working alongside the [Lansing Urban Farm Project (LUFP)](https://lansingurbanfarmproject.wordpress.com/). The project works to establish farms in urban Lansing that:

- Make fresh affordable produce available to residents
- Develop programs that integrate food and farming into larger community-building efforts
- Allow for economic, environmental, cultural and social sustainability
