It means showing up, building relationships, celebrating our neighbors and supporting the people and organizations working every day to make Mid-Michigan stronger. That’s why we are proud to partner with [Cafecito Caliente](https://cafecitocaliente.com/) in support of the 4th Annual Cafecito Caliente Awards, taking place Friday, September 25, 2026, at The Cadillac Room in Lansing’s REO Town. The Cafecito Caliente Awards are Mid-Michigan’s community awards celebrating the achievements, leadership and contributions of Hispanic and Latino individuals and organizations throughout our region. The evening will bring the community together for dinner, networking, entertainment and, most importantly, recognition of individuals and organizations making a difference. Awards will celebrate accomplishments in areas including the arts, education, business, community volunteerism and lifelong achievement through the Legacy Award. Special honors will also include Latina of the Year and the Heart of the City Award. For years, Cafecito Caliente has worked to bring greater visibility to what is happening within Mid-Michigan’s Hispanic and Latino community while creating opportunities for connection, celebration and economic growth. Its work has included initiatives connecting students with higher education, Latino Night with the Lansing Lugnuts, networking events, a directory highlighting more than 250 Latino-owned businesses and professionals, the Latino Business Expo and many other community and business initiatives. In 2026, Cafecito Caliente is also taking over Latino Business Conexions of Michigan, further expanding opportunities to connect and support Hispanic and Latino entrepreneurs and professionals throughout the region. This work aligns closely with something we believe deeply at Rathbun Insurance: strong communities are built through relationships. We believe investing in our communities is simply the right thing to do. When businesses, nonprofits, community leaders and neighbors work together, we create stronger connections and a more vibrant and welcoming Mid-Michigan. We are especially proud to support organizations that are truly “on the ground” in the communities they serve. Cafecito Caliente has spent years building relationships, creating opportunities, recognizing leaders and making sure the stories and accomplishments of Mid-Michigan’s Latino community are seen and celebrated. We are grateful to Cafecito Caliente for the work they continue to do throughout Mid-Michigan and honored to play a small part in supporting their vision.
