We hit The Hill in Washington D.C. last month to advocate on behalf of independent insurance agents at the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) Legislative Conference. This year's lobbying efforts focused on a reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program as well as reforms for health care, tax and insurance regulation. The Michigan Young Agents Council sent nine young agents this year along with the Michigan Association of Independent Agents (MAIA) and were able to meet with several of our Congressional representatives.
