Today we say goodbye to our summer intern, Sarah Bejleri, and what a memorable 12 weeks it has been! Sarah joined us through the Rathbun Insurance Intern Passport Program—a unique learning experience designed to provide a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes look at the insurance industry. From her first day, Sarah brought energy, positivity, and a contagious eagerness to learn that lit up our office.
During her time at Rathbun Insurance, Sarah spent scheduled and agenda led focused learning time with every Rathbun Insurance staff member, exploring every facet of our operations—from HR to marketing, finance, account management, and sales. She not only gained technical knowledge but also immersed herself in our company culture, learning firsthand why Being There Matters Most is more than just a vision statement for us.
Sarah’s experience stretched well beyond our office walls. She:
Spent three full days with the Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS), learning about the role of our regulator.
Shadowed a full day at Accident Fund Insurance Company, diving into the world of workers’ compensation.
Toured Auto-Owners Insurance, where she learned about claims handling, processing, marketing, and the vital relationship between carriers and independent agencies like Rathbun.
Connected with financial institutions, including a banker, an insurance accounting firm, and a local economic developer, gaining exposure to the many facets of finance.
Because Sarah is a junior at Michigan State University, majoring in Economics with a minor in Business Risk Management, these experiences gave her a broad foundation to build upon as she looks ahead to her career.
Sarah also rolled up her sleeves and jumped into Rathbun’s community work—helping staff our booth at ScrapFest 15 and seeing our vision of Being There Matters Most in action.

On top of that, Sarah led four signature projects that left a lasting impact:
Turning 440 commercial leads into actionable prospects.
Enhancing internal communications with a looping monthly culture PowerPoint.
Establishing brand consistency with a standardized presentation template.
Identifying returning customers eligible for discounts—saving them money while improving retention.
Sarah’s impact on Rathbun Insurance has been both wide and deep. As an international student from the Philippines, she brought a global perspective and curiosity that enriched our entire team.
Sarah, thank you for sharing your summer with us. You’ve left a meaningful mark on Rathbun Insurance, and we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next. We know you’ll continue to shine wherever you go!
YOU DID GREAT!
