As Rathbun Insurance celebrates 70 years of Being There Matters Most, our 70 for 70 campaign continues to highlight the people and organizations making a difference in our community.
This week, we are proud to feature Heather Cooper-Kim, Producer at Rathbun Insurance, and her chosen nonprofit, the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing.
Founded in 1877, the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing has long been a cornerstone of the Lansing community. Built on a mission of listening and responding to the most critical social needs, the Y has grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant organization serving roughly 10,000 members across three branches. Their impact spans generations, offering programs and services that support health, wellness, youth development, and community connection.
For Heather, the YMCA’s impact goes far beyond what many people may initially see.
“The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing is more than a place to gym and swim. They serve the community through accessible health and fitness programs, quality childcare, and innovative outreach like the Healthy Living Fitness Bus, bringing wellness directly to neighborhoods and making physical activity accessible to all.”
From early childhood programs to senior wellness initiatives, the YMCA continues to meet people where they are, breaking down barriers and ensuring that everyone has access to resources that support a healthy and connected life. Their commitment to outreach, including programs like the Healthy Living Fitness Bus, reflects a deep understanding of the community and a willingness to evolve to meet its needs.
At Rathbun Insurance, we believe that strong communities are built by organizations like the YMCA and by individuals like Heather who recognize and support that work. Through our 70 for 70 campaign, we are honored to celebrate both.
Heather, thank you for highlighting the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing and for helping us continue to invest in organizations that are making a meaningful difference right here in our community.
Being There Matters Most.
