As we continue our $70 for 70 Years campaign in honor of Rathbun Insurance’s 70th anniversary, we are proud to share our second contribution — selected by our President, Laura Stoken.
Laura chose Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center because every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported. Their trauma-informed approach ensures that children and families impacted by abuse receive compassionate care, advocacy, and the resources they need to begin healing. Supporting their mission helps strengthen the long-term health and resilience of our entire community.
Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center serves as the coordinated response site for children involved in child sexual abuse investigations in Mid-Michigan. By bringing together essential partners in a child-centered environment, Small Talk reduces trauma and ensures that children are treated with dignity, care, and respect throughout an incredibly difficult process.
In addition to forensic and advocacy services, Small Talk provides no-cost therapy for children impacted by trauma, services for children displaying problematic sexual behavior, adult prevention education, and a vibrant internship program that helps build the next generation of professionals committed to protecting children.
At Rathbun Insurance, we believe that being there when it matters most extends beyond insurance policies — it includes standing alongside organizations that protect the most vulnerable among us. We are honored to support Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center and grateful for the vital work they do every day.
