During Insurance Careers Month, Rathbun Insurance was once again honored to partner with the Business and Risk Management Program at Wilson Talent Center for what can only be described as an incredible success.
This year, we brought together 24 high school students enrolled in the Business and Risk Management Program at Wilson Talent Center and paired them with 24 business professionals for a real-world networking experience. Not a simulation. Not a classroom exercise. A true professional networking event designed to build confidence, sharpen communication skills, and expose students to meaningful career possibilities.
The room was filled with energy, curiosity, and courage. For many students, this was their first time navigating structured networking conversations with professionals. They stepped up. They introduced themselves. They asked thoughtful questions. They practiced eye contact, handshakes, and authentic conversation. Watching their confidence grow from the first round to the final session was inspiring.
Equally inspiring was our business community.
Twenty-four professionals took time out of their busy schedules to show up for these students. They shared stories, career journeys, advice, encouragement, and real insight into their industries. They modeled professionalism, approachability, and leadership. When business leaders invest directly in students, it strengthens not only individual futures but our entire regional workforce pipeline.
This partnership with Wilson Talent Center continues to demonstrate what is possible when education and industry collaborate intentionally. Students gain exposure. Professionals gain perspective. And together, we build hope for the future.
