At Rathbun Insurance, we believe being there matters most, and that includes being there for the organizations and programs that make a difference in our community. Through our employee volunteer hours, our team members have the opportunity to step away from the office and give their time to causes that are meaningful to them.
Recently, Rathbun Account Manager Kim Evans used her volunteer hours to spend time with the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, an organization she has been involved with for many years.
Kim helped teach the girls the basics of archery safety before giving them the opportunity to put those lessons into practice and shoot for a few hours. There was even a special incentive for hitting the mark. Any Girl Scout who got a bullseye was able to sign a laminated target that hangs near the office door for everyone to see!
The day’s adventures did not stop at the archery range. The girls also had the opportunity to float down the Looking Glass River, with Kim and the other volunteers helping everyone navigate the river and avoid getting stuck along the way.
The group included Girl Scouts across several age levels, from 7-year-old Brownies through Cadettes, ages 11 to 14. It was a great opportunity for the girls to spend time outdoors, learn new skills, build confidence, and have some fun together.
We are proud to provide our employees with paid volunteer hours because we know the organizations our team members care about are often the same organizations helping our communities thrive. We love seeing our team use that time to stay involved with causes that have been important to them personally.
