Investing in Tomorrow’s Talent: Rathbun Insurance at Wilson Talent Center

In celebration of February as Insurance Careers Month, Rathbun Insurance President Laura Stoken was honored to join the job fair at the Wilson Talent Center this past Wednesday—and it was an experience she won’t soon forget.

As part of Insurance Careers Month, Laura had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with students, review resumes and cover letters, and have short but meaningful conversations about their skills, interests, and future goals. Students represented programs in cybersecurity, engineering, and programming, and their talent, extracurricular involvement, and confidence already stood out in impressive ways.

“I had an absolute blast,” Laura shared. “Celebrating Insurance Careers Month by spending time with students is a reminder of just how bright our future is when we continue to show up for young people and support the incredible work our local schools are doing.”

Wilson Talent Center (WTC) offers Career & Technical Education (CTE) programming for high school juniors and seniors across the region. With 20 programs in 12 career clusters, students have access to high school academic credit, free college credit, and state or national certifications.

WTC is deeply focused on preparing students for life after high school. Nearly 80% of students continue their education through apprenticeships, advanced training programs, or two- or four-year college degrees. Through partnerships with more than 17 colleges and universities, students can earn articulated or direct college credit while still in high school.

Another strength of Wilson Talent Center is its commitment to working alongside business leaders through Advisory Board participation and Work-Based Learning opportunities. These partnerships are vital to student success and to employers invested in building strong, local talent pipelines.

At Rathbun Insurance, celebrating Insurance Careers Month means showing up, sharing knowledge, and helping students see the many pathways available within insurance and risk management. Experiences like the Wilson Talent Center job fair reinforce why this work matters and remind us how bright the future is with the talent our local schools are fostering.

Stay tuned for more student-focused activities throughout the month as Rathbun Insurance continues to celebrate Insurance Careers Month and support the next generation of professionals.
