This special evening brings our community together for a night of celebration, entertainment, and generosity, all in support of an organization making an incredible difference for local children and families.
The Davies Project has a mission that is both simple and powerful: to connect families to resources and community by providing reliable transportation for seriously ill children and pregnant women to essential healthcare.
For many families, getting to a medical appointment isn't as simple as getting in the car. Transportation barriers can mean missed appointments, delayed treatment, and additional stress during an already challenging time.
In Greater Lansing, 70% of children who rely on local subspecialty clinics for serious health conditions are covered by Medicaid, and transportation challenges contribute to significant numbers of missed medical appointments.
The Davies Project is helping change that through a dedicated network of trained and carefully screened volunteer drivers who provide transportation for:
- Children with serious health conditions who need to attend specialist visits, therapy appointments, routine checkups, dental and vision care, and mental health appointments.
- Pregnant women who need reliable transportation to prenatal appointments, helping give their babies the healthiest start possible.
- Parents with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), ensuring they can be present to bond with their babies and learn the care they'll need once they return home.
These rides are about so much more than transportation. They're about access to healthcare, peace of mind, stronger families, and knowing that someone in our community cares enough to show up.
And what better way to support this important mission than by coming together for an unforgettable evening? The Davies Project's Driving Change Gala promises a night filled with great food, music, dancing, and plenty of opportunities to make a difference!
The gala will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 6:00–11:00 p.m. at MSU's University Club.
The evening kicks off from 6:00–7:00 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a silent auction, followed by a delicious plated dinner.
Guests will enjoy exciting live and reverse auctions, including one-of-a-kind experiences and treasures such as custom knitting, gourmet home-delivered meals, and even a special professional Santa experience just in time for the holidays!
And the fun doesn't stop there! Following the live auction and paddle raise, guests can head to the lower-level ballroom for live music and dancing featuring an energetic performance by Atomic Bugaloo.
One important detail: auction items will only be available to guests attending in person, so you'll want to be there to take part in the excitement!
