Rathbun Insurance CEO Ben Rathbun and President Laura Stoken had the honor of attending the Greater Lansing Food Bank’s 2nd Annual State of the Plate, bringing together community leaders and supporters for an important conversation about hunger in our region.
September 29 was Hunger Action Day, a day that invites each of us to consider what action we can take toward ending hunger in our communities.
Greater Lansing Food Bank Board Chair Mona Deliwala opened the event by encouraging those in attendance to lean in, get involved and take action, both today and in the days ahead.
Kelly Miller, Chief Development Officer at Greater Lansing Food Bank, led a thoughtful panel discussion about the state of hunger in our region and the needs facing our neighbors. Panelists included Julie Cassidy, Senior Policy Analyst with the Michigan League for Public Policy; Mallory DePrekel, CEO of Communities In Schools of Michigan; and Dru Montri, Vice President of Agri-Food Engagement with Feeding America.
While the realities surrounding hunger can be difficult, the conversation also offered an important message of hope: we can make meaningful progress toward ending hunger when we work together.
At Rathbun Insurance, we believe being there matters most. We are proud to stand alongside Greater Lansing Food Bank and so many Mid-Michigan leaders who are working every day to address hunger from every angle, from advocating for policy change to meeting neighbors where they are with food, resources and support.
Thank you to Greater Lansing Food Bank for bringing our community together for this important conversation and for the work you do every day to help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.
