Rathbun Insurance was proud to once again support the 25th Annual Ele’s Place Fall Reception! CEO Ben Rathbun, Commercial Account Executive Cheryl Grimes, and Personal Lines Account Manager Denise Ordiway had a wonderful time celebrating an organization that holds a special place in our hearts.
The evening brought together community members, volunteers, and supporters for a celebration of hope, healing, and the incredible impact Ele’s Place continues to make in the lives of grieving children and families. Guests enjoyed delicious food, live music, a silent auction, and the opportunity to hear firsthand how Ele’s Place has made a meaningful difference in the life of a past participant.

Ben Rathbun has been a dedicated volunteer with Ele’s Place for more than a decade, including seven years facilitating grief support groups for preschool-aged children. He joined the Capital Region Community Board in 2020 and became Vice Chair in 2025, continuing his commitment to supporting the organization and the families it serves.
Our very own Denise Ordiway has also been a longtime volunteer grief facilitator, generously giving her time to help children navigate the loss of someone they love. Her compassion and dedication reflect the heart of Ele’s Place and the importance of simply being there for others during life's most difficult moments.
Ele’s Place is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring no child or teen grieves alone in Michigan. Through compassionate peer support groups, the organization provides a safe space where children and families can connect with others who understand their experiences, process their grief, and discover hope and healing.
At Rathbun Insurance, our vision is Being There Matters Most, and few organizations embody that belief quite like Ele’s Place. We are incredibly proud of Ben and Denise for their years of personal commitment to this mission and grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting an organization making such a profound difference in our community.
