Rathbun Insurance was proud to attend the Uplift Our Youth Foundation Annual Grant Award Reception on Thursday, September 17, joining community members for an evening dedicated to celebrating local leaders, recognizing exceptional students, and investing in organizations working to create opportunities for young people throughout Greater Lansing.
The annual awards and fundraiser brought together individuals and organizations who share a commitment to helping young people thrive. During the evening, Uplift Our Youth Foundation awarded more than $15,000 in grants to organizations whose programs are focused on empowering youth and helping them build successful futures.

For more than two decades, Uplift Our Youth Foundation has been working to make a difference for young people in our region. Founded in 2002, the organization provides financial support to nonprofits serving youth, particularly organizations and programs working with young people who may not otherwise have access to the same opportunities and resources.
At the heart of that work is a simple but powerful mission: to uplift youth to reach their full potential and shape their futures by giving them the opportunity and vision to believe in themselves and succeed in life.
That mission extends beyond the individual programs receiving grants. Uplift Our Youth envisions being a catalyst for Greater Lansing by inspiring hope, generating financial support, and positively impacting young people in ways that can continue from one generation to the next.
That kind of investment in our community matters.
At Rathbun Insurance, we believe being part of a community means more than simply doing business in it. It means showing up, building relationships, supporting organizations doing meaningful work, and helping strengthen the place we have called home for 70 years.
We are fortunate to live and work in a region filled with nonprofits, educators, volunteers, businesses, mentors, and community leaders who recognize the importance of investing in young people. Opportunities created today can influence the direction of a young person's life, and the impact can extend far beyond that individual.
Events like the Uplift Our Youth Annual Grant Award Reception are also an important reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose. More than $15,000 in grants means additional resources in the hands of organizations already doing the work, creating programs, building relationships, opening doors, and helping young people see possibilities for their futures.
We were honored to spend the evening learning more about this work and celebrating the people and organizations making it possible.
