On Saturday, August 22, the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing will host the Legacy of Magic Gala from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Breslin Center. As the YMCA celebrates nearly 150 years of serving the Lansing community, this special event will honor Earvin "Magic" Johnson and the Johnson Family while recognizing Magic's remarkable journey from the YMCA of Lansing to becoming one of the world's most respected athletes, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists.
The evening will be chaired by two families whose dedication to the Lansing community has made a lasting impact: Kellie and Marilyn Dean of Dean Transportation and Tom and Lupe Izzo of Michigan State University.
Guests will enjoy:
- A keynote address by Earvin "Magic" Johnson
- A reception featuring hors d'oeuvres and live jazz music
- A special tribute honoring the Johnson Family

- Silent and live auctions
Most importantly, every dollar raised will directly support YMCA scholarships and facility improvements, helping ensure that children, families, and individuals throughout our region continue to have access to life-changing programs and opportunities.
