At Rathbun Insurance, community involvement is more than a value, it’s part of who we are. This week, our team once again proudly participated in the South Lansing Business Association’s biannual Team Up 2 CleanUp event, spending the afternoon helping beautify and care for the South Lansing community.
Representing Rathbun Insurance this year were Producer Heather Cooper-Kim, Inside Sales Manager Jennifer Bates, and Commercial Account Executive Cheryl Grimes. Together with fellow volunteers, business leaders, and community partners, the team worked throughout South Lansing assisting with clean-up efforts aimed at keeping the area welcoming, vibrant, and connected.
The South Lansing Business Association (SLBA) has a long history of investing in the betterment of Lansing’s south side. Organized in 1980 as a civic organization focused on strengthening the City of Lansing, particularly South Lansing, the SLBA brings together individuals from all walks of life, including small business owners, community leaders, bankers, attorneys, and industry professionals who share a common interest in supporting the south side community.
Over the years, the SLBA has played an active role in important community initiatives including improvements to Cedar Street, business district beautification and clean-up projects, and sign ordinance legislation. The organization also recognizes the importance of strong communication and collaboration between government and private enterprise, working to ensure those relationships remain productive and community-focused.
Heather Cooper-Kim has been involved with the South Lansing Business Association for many years, and we are proud to see her continued leadership and involvement in initiatives like Team Up 2 CleanUp. This year, Jennifer Bates and Cheryl Grimes joined Heather in representing Rathbun Insurance and giving back alongside other local volunteers.
At Rathbun Insurance, we believe strong communities are built through relationships, service, and showing up for one another. Events like Team Up 2 CleanUp are an opportunity for our team to live out our vision statement: "Being There Matters Most."
Thank you to the South Lansing Business Association for organizing another impactful event and to all of the volunteers and community partners who helped make a difference this year!
