At Rathbun Insurance, we believe that Being There Matters Most, and sometimes that means rolling up our sleeves, getting outside, and helping make our community a better place!
Our very own Heather Cooper-Kim and Cheryl Grimes recently joined the South Lansing Business Association (SLBA) for its biannual Team Up 2 Clean Up community beautification efforts. Held each spring and fall, these events bring together local businesses, community leaders, and volunteers who share a commitment to keeping South Lansing clean, welcoming, and beautiful.
Founded in 1980, the South Lansing Business Association was established as a civic organization dedicated to improving the City of Lansing, with a particular focus on its south side.
For more than four decades, the SLBA has brought together individuals representing businesses, education, government, and other community organizations. While its members come from different backgrounds and industries, they share a common goal: supporting the people and places that make South Lansing a great place to live, work, and play.
The association's efforts extend beyond beautification projects to include advocating
for local businesses, strengthening relationships between public and private organizations, and supporting improvements throughout South Lansing.
The Team Up 2 Clean Up events are a wonderful example of that mission in action. Twice a year, volunteers come together to pick up litter, clean public spaces, and take pride in the neighborhoods and business corridors that make up South Lansing.
Heather, a longtime member of the South Lansing Business Association, has consistently demonstrated her commitment to strengthening our local community. We're grateful that Cheryl joined her in supporting this important initiative and helping make a visible difference in South Lansing.
At Rathbun Insurance, community involvement isn't just something we talk about. It's something our team puts into action throughout the year. Whether we're supporting local nonprofits, volunteering our time, or participating in neighborhood improvement projects, we believe that small acts of service collectively make a big impact.
We're proud of Heather and Cheryl for representing Rathbun Insurance and giving their time to an organization that has spent more than 40 years investing in the future of South Lansing.
A special thank-you to the South Lansing Business Association for organizing these spring and fall clean-up events and for continuing to bring our community together.
And, of course, thank you to Heather and Cheryl for taking time out of your day to make a difference!
