First and foremost, THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Rathbun Insurance’s 70th Anniversary Open House on August 6, sent well wishes, or helped us celebrate this incredible milestone.
More than 300 people came through our doors, and we were absolutely blown away by the support. Seeing so many clients, carrier partners, community members, friends and family gathered together reminded us exactly why celebrating 70 years means so much.
Rathbun Insurance would not be here without the generations of clients who have trusted us, the carrier partners who have worked alongside us, the employees who have poured so much into this agency, and the Greater Lansing community that has supported us along the way.
- Since 1956, a lot has changed. Our team has grown, technology has transformed our industry, our office has evolved, and the needs of the people and businesses we serve have changed. But one thing has remained constant: our belief that Being There Matters Most.
Our 70th Anniversary Open House was an opportunity to celebrate that history while also celebrating the people who continue to be part of our story today.
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to enjoy incredible food, entertainment and activities while reconnecting with our team and one another. We are incredibly grateful to the local businesses and organizations that helped make the celebration possible, including:
- D1’s Kitchen, which kept everyone well fed with an incredible spread
- Mr. Leslie's Cheesecakes, which provided the perfect sweet addition to the celebration
- All of the Above Hip Hop Academy, whose performers brought incredible energy and talent to the evening
- City Nights 360 photo booth, which gave guests a fun way to capture memories from the celebration
StellaBleu Designs, which created all of the beautiful balloon displays and décor that helped transform our space for the celebration
Michigan Premier Events, which helped with the planning and coordination that brought all of the pieces of our anniversary celebration together
We were also proud to partner with Citizens Insurance, A Company of The Hanover Insurance Group, and Moen to give six of our guests water mitigation technology for their homes. Through their generosity, selected guests received either a Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor with professional installation or Moen Smart Water Sensors. Water losses can be incredibly disruptive and costly, and technology that helps detect leaks early can make a meaningful difference. Thank you to Citizens and Moen for helping us incorporate education, prevention and protection into our celebration.
One of our favorite parts of the evening was looking back at the people, milestones and memories that have shaped Rathbun Insurance over the past seven decades. We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us celebrate our history while supporting the future of our community. As part of the evening, we were honored to recognize and support The Lansing Nest and the work they are doing for local families. Giving back has long been an important part of who we are, and we could not imagine celebrating this milestone without using the occasion to help strengthen the community that has supported Rathbun Insurance for 70 years.

Seventy years is a milestone worth celebrating, but it is also a reminder that an organization like ours is never built by one person or one generation. It is built through relationships, trust, service and thousands of moments of simply being there for one another.
We are incredibly grateful for the first 70 years of Rathbun Insurance, and we are even more excited about what comes next.
