At Rathbun Insurance, Being There Matters Most—and that includes supporting meaningful moments that celebrate history, culture, and progress. We are honored to support Lansing’s Juneteenth Celebration, hosted by the Lansing Juneteenth Committee.

The mission of the Lansing Juneteenth Committee is to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States by celebrating the joys of liberty, educating the community about African-American heritage, and promoting positive cultural interaction. This annual celebration invites everyone to take part in a vibrant, multi-day event that uplifts the spirit of freedom and unity.

The 2025 Lansing Juneteenth Celebration Schedule Includes:

• Wednesday, June 18 at 6:00 PM
  Juneteenth Capital City Kick-Off Ceremony
  Celebrate the announcement of the award winners of the 2025 Dr. Eugene & Dr. Maxine Hankins Cain Essay Competition & Scholarship Award Program.

• Thursday, June 19 at 11:00 AM
  Juneteenth Flag Day Ceremony at Lansing City Hall
  Join community members as we raise the Juneteenth flag and reflect on its significance.

• Friday, June 20 | 4:00 – 8:30 PM
  Freedom Festival at St. Joseph Park, 2125 W Hillsdale Street
  Enjoy live entertainment, vendors, and family-friendly activities.

• Saturday, June 21 | Starting at 11:00 AM
  Juneteenth Parade (from Sexton High School to St. Joseph Park)
  The celebration continues at the park with entertainment, a health and job fair, children and youth activities, hustle and line dancing, and so much more—running until dusk.

We are especially excited to welcome this year’s Keynote Speaker, Senator Sarah E. Anthony, Senate Appropriations Chairwoman and proud representative of Michigan’s 21st Senate District. Her leadership and advocacy continue to inspire the next generation.
