Serving Those Who Serve: Rathbun President Joins Mason Cares 9/11 Tribute And Helps Clean Fire Station

On September 11, Rathbun Insurance President, Laura Stoken, joined her fellow Rotary Club of Mason members to participate in the annual Mason Cares event. Each year, this community-wide effort brings people together to show gratitude to local first responders while paying tribute to the victims of 9/11.

Laura was honored to flip roles with first responders for the day—taking on tasks like washing and cleaning the city’s fire trucks, tidying the break room

and offices, scrubbing windows, and even polishing the memorabilia case inside the fire station. These small acts of service were done with great appreciation for the men and women who dedicate themselves to keeping the community safe.

The tradition of Mason Cares began 21 years ago, following the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks, as a positive way to remember the lives lost while thanking those who protect us daily. The day concluded with a moving memorial service to honor the victims of 9/11, reminding all participants of the importance of remembrance and resilience.

Laura shared that it was a privilege to stand alongside community members, roll up her sleeves, and serve those who serve us. At Rathbun Insurance, we believe that Being There Matters Most—and this event was another meaningful way to live out that vision.
