Mason Rotary Kids Day was a lively and joyful highlight of this year’s Ingham County Fair, welcoming more than 40 children for an afternoon of classic games, friendly competition, and generous prizes. From watermelon eating contests to potato sack and three-legged races, the event was packed with high-energy fun. Ice cream eating challenges kept the crowd smiling, and five lucky kids even went home with brand-new bicycles. All participants had the chance to win cash prizes, making it a memorable day for both kids and families.

The event was made possible through the time and support of Mason Rotary Club volunteers, including Rathbun Insurance President Laura Stoken. As a proud Rotarian, Laura joined fellow members in hosting the day’s activities.
The Ingham County Fair, which runs through Saturday, August 2, continues to offer something for all ages—rides, exhibits, entertainment, and a unique opportunity to support local agriculture and youth development.
A central component of the fair is the youth livestock program, coordinated by the Ingham County Junior Livestock Association (JLA). Formed in 2022, the JLA is dedicated to organizing and financing the annual fair’s youth livestock shows and sales. Participation is open to young people enrolled in clubs such as 4-H, FFA, Scouts, school groups, and other community-based organizations within Ingham County. The level of commitment and hard work shown by these students is evident throughout the week and is a powerful reminder of the value of hands-on learning and agricultural education.
Whether you're there to cheer on the next generation of farmers or simply enjoy the fair food and festivities, the Ingham County Fair is a celebration of community spirit and tradition. There’s still time to attend and support this longstanding Mid-Michigan tradition.
