Navigating Perimenopause and Menopause: A DEI Discussion at Rathbun Insurance

At Rathbun Insurance, we believe in fostering an inclusive workplace where every voice is heard and valued. That's why we dedicate time each month to engage in conversations around various topics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). These discussions cover a wide range of subjects that our staff is eager to explore, allowing us to deepen our understanding and create a more inclusive environment for all.

Today, we were privileged to host a special session featuring two remarkable individuals who enlightened us on a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of women's health: perimenopause and menopause. Dr. Elena Alawa from True Health Solutions Clinic and Katie Krick, founder of The Period Pick-Me-Up, joined us to shed light on this important topic.

Dr. Elena shared invaluable insights into the signs, symptoms, and history of perimenopause and menopause. She emphasized the significance of hormone balance in achieving optimal health during this transitional phase of life. Through her expertise, she empowered us with knowledge on how to better manage and thrive despite experiencing perimenopause or menopause.

Katie Krick, the visionary behind The Period Pick-Me-Up, introduced us to innovative solutions for menstrual health. Her dedication to revolutionizing the period experience resonated with our team, as she highlighted the importance of access to quality period products and self-care during menstruation.

The conversation sparked by Dr. Elena and Katie was not only informative but also transformative. It underscored the necessity of destigmatizing discussions around women's health issues such as perimenopause and menopause. Every woman will go through this phase, yet the lack of open dialogue often leaves many feeling unprepared and unsupported.

Rathbun Insurance aims to provide a platform for these important conversations. By prioritizing DEI initiatives, we not only enrich our workplace culture but also empower our team to be advocates for change in our community.

As we continue our journey towards greater diversity, equity, and inclusion, we remain committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we can create a more inclusive future where all individuals can thrive, regardless of age, gender, or background.
